has anybody had problems with the gauge cutting out on a viper? it has been happening for several years now and keeps getting worse. two gauges later and miles of unraveled electrical tape and still no solution. headlights and brakelights work fine. not a rub through on the harness under the motor or seat or gas tank. wires above both footwells and around the steering post are fine. gauge will cut out under hard accelleration and motor will sometimes miss. on a long pull across the lake the tach will flutter if it dosen't cut out completely. stator bench tested at dealer ok. other than throwing new electrical parts at it i am out of ideas. would rather take the track out and put it back in 10 times than deal with this! any help would be greatly appreciated.

tested stator at .4ohms and pickupat 201.3 which seems to be within spec. do the two relays above the left foot well have anything to do with the gauge function? also, if either of the two smoothing relays were bad, would switching locations of them help?
