I'm hoping that this forumn has many experienced Yammie enthusiasts that had '80 vintage sleds and remember what to do. ... I need some help
My '87 Exiter 570 just siphoned all the gas out of the tank and filled the engine. I know this was common on older Yammies, but I cannot find info on how to get all the gas out. I pulled the plugs & pipe and can pull the cord and get a bunch of gas pouring and spraying out, but she still has so much inside, plugs get wet after it sputters trying to start it. Short of flipping it upside down, is there a technique to get the gas out or do I have to try to start/pull plugs/torch dry plugs and do that 200 times? Is there a case drain plug or anything like a Jet Ski has? HELP! I know typing takes awhile, so if you want to discuss, I'm at 815 690-9182. Thanks!

First off you've got a sticky needle and seat which is why the carbs let all the fuel go into the motor.
As for getting the fuel out. Pull the pipe and the plugs. Shut the key off so it wount spark. Grab a socket that fits the clutch bolt. Start spinning the motor over - faster the better- after a while it will pull most of the fuel out of the case. Then if you have the carbs right it should be dry enough to run. Good luck.
