I picked this sled up for my 10yo stepdaughter and she wantts to ride it but it really finicky. It starts rough but once warmed up idels fine at 1,900 rpm the problem is it has a low- midrange bog that doesn't allow it to take off until you feather the throttle or fully back off and hit it again. I can ride it like this but she is too young to understand how to manage the throttle position in relation to the engine rpm to get it going. I already have added SeaFoam t othe gas and ran it for awhile on the track stand trying to get it to clean itself out without having to take apart the carb and it got a little better but it's still a problem. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it as I've never worked on an older carb like this one. It should still have a pilot and main jet right? Any diagrams would help too? Or if someone is good at rebuilding these carbs or has a spare that is in good condition and wants to make a some money let me know. Thanks for taking the time to read this

Had one of these a looong time ago, great little sled,,i would start out by
removing the carb and go right through it and set to spec.,, also iirc i had
a problem similar to yours there and found out the coil was weak.

we still have a et250 that does this. in out case it is the primary clutch. they weighted the damn thing too heavy when the power block was put on so it bogs like a bugger on take off. once you are rolling it is fine and it will take 340 sleds for lunch.
if the carb is good and the plugs look good running it at engagement on the stand, i would say the primary is the next place to go.

Thanks guys for the info I've got a friend with a donor et440 and one good et440 and he says that he had a similar problem so he cleaned the carb and replaced the coil and it ran great after that so I'll replace the coil first and then clean the carb if that doesn't do the trick. The clutch looks like it's shifting fine on the stand but under load it may be opening up the secondary to quick and bogging it down. I'll try replacing the secondary spring if it's still bogging after I clean the carb and replace the coil. BTW- I was mistaken it's an et300 not 340. What should top speed be on this sled?
