I cross referenced from year to year, and the part numbers are different. But was wandering what the difference is.....

iirc the '01 was a better stator, more out put,it was a 16 pole stator..
98-99 is a 175 watt system, the 2000-02 is a 300 watt system, they are not interchangeable, even the plugs to the wiring harness are differnt.

Thanks boys, Putting a 01 motor in a 99 tommoro, and i was pretty sure it wouldn't work but just wanted to be sure. Is there any other differences i should look out for? I will post pics of the grenaded motor this week, i think the crank let go. 17650Miles, 28240km's original motor, totally stock and Amsoil intercepter since new.

Damn!!!! thats pretty good..JENSEN said:17650Miles, 28240km's original motor, totally stock
the way to make this work is get a good 98-99 stator, it will bolt up the same as the 01 was and then reuse the 01 flywheel, but youll need to grind off the TDC magnet, its the very short one between the 3 long magnets on the flywheel. You cant use the 98-99 flywheel as the pick up coil location was changed on the cases due to the diameter of the smaller flywheel.

Thanks again
Thanks again

oh yeah , where do i send the money...lol
just grind off the little TDC magnet , use the 98-99 stator and let er rip!!
I would never charge for help, just kiddin, its all free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![Welcome :wel: :wel:](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/welcome.gif)

Don, did what you said with the 01 flywheel but inconsistent spark. Almost seems to advanced. I used the 99 stator and pickup coil, and the 01 flywheel with the TDC magnet grinded off. is there something that i'm overlooking? Or maybe too many beers! either way, looks like i'm riding the olympic this weekend! lol

I'm going to pull the flywheel off and make sure everything went on smooth and aligned correctly, then start testting the stator and pick up and go from there.
?? dont know??? whats inconsitant spark relating to?/ let me know what ya find

Yo bud, this 99 stator and 01 flywheel is no worky worky. I've done what you said and I dont get any power out of it. The sled tryed to fire once but was before tdc, way before stopped me pulling it over. And it only worked when I pulled it over fast. Do you know if maybe I'm missing something or you missed telling me something??? Any feed back would be appriciated, have you done this swap before as well?
Thanks Bud

Don,
I tried making the magnet marks the same and nothing tonight i am going to take some pic's to send to you and first I'm going to check witha ohm meter to see if my stator is still good, do you have any info on the ohn resistance for the stator?
Thanks Regert
