I have done the search in this forum and in the Tech Question forum, for this problem, and have learned quite a bit on the issue.

However, I would still like to pose the question in the event there is an obvious fix.

Hand warmers have been luke warm at best for some time, and during the last ride, they quit completely and the high beam became too dim to drive with. Also, if I left the hand warmers on with the high beam on, the tach would quit. Turn off the warmers, and the tach starts up, but the high beam light is still too dim. Low beam continues to work well enough to drive with, and the tach functions also, but no warmers.

I will check the harness and its connections today, but is there any other advice?

02srx? those had the engine harness placed in a protector. You might check over at the left footwell and see if the wires have rubbed thru right at the plugs for the cdi, next place would be the steering hoop support. It sounds rubbed thru shorting out the warmers and high beams, fix it quickly as the warmers are fed by the cdi box, so if you ruin the warmer circuit its gonna cost you a cdi box.

thats the black steel tube that your steering shaft bolts to, it runs along the top of the dash, your plastic dash housing with key, warmers, choke all bolt to it. the harness runs along the support tube, i have found rub issues there before. check the left side footwell first, its more common there, the wires get rubbed thru from touching the fotwell top, unbolt the cdi leave wires plugged in and flip over the box, youll see if they are rubbed thru.
