Ok all you motor heads tell me what went wrong with this program...My buds sxr blew, but before it went he said the tors was comin on . dont really know if there was an issue with that, that had anything to do with it blowing or not. we checked the carbs ...they were clean, we could not really tell of any air leaks on any of gaskets . we suspect the mag side crank seal? motor has over 9000 miles, never been touched, take a look !!

well, its been touched, its got reed spacers in it. Whats the jetting and where are the needles set at? all the pistons look pretty dry to me, i dont observe any wash at all in any of the pics.

If tors was kicking in he wouldn't have been able to get over 3 grand, looks
way lean, sombody wasn't watching jetting looks like...

its got 9000 miles on this jetting. I dont think that is the problem , and as far as tors it would kick in and then be fine, but did it 2 or 3 times b4 it blew at high rpms,,,...like it had an electrical problem. as far as dry... me thinks that too...I checked oil cable ..its set at 22.5 mm. He's running psi triple pipes w/ psi exact specs. and thin head gasket( 1 layer out) but like i said its got 9000 miles on this setup..Do you think it was just time for it to blow, does the piston look like a long wear out? Do you think the mag side is leaking? The plugs looked a lil on the rich side (rusty brown color with a black sooty base) let me get a pic of them.

looks like a lean burn. how many miles does he have this year? just cause the jetting is correct doesnt mean it cant be lean. lot of other factors can cause this. dirty carb is usualy the biggest culprit. second is the carb lose in the boot. then comes crank seals, and intake and exhaust gasket. if any are leaking and sucking air it leans it right out and melts the exhaust side of the piston.

Somthing sure let some extra air in,,sure looks lean,,tear that motor apprt
check crank seals boot's,etc....

is it just the one piston???

lean, lean, lean, there is no wash at all on any piston. Something happened for sure to lean out like that. Dirty carbs, crank seals, carb boots....something.
