Well, i have a 600 ho sdi renegade that i love to ride, its an 06'
and well i have a chance to get a yamaha triple 2002 with ohlins over $8000 in upgrades, Hauck cylinder heads and triple pipes, Erlandson clutches, 1.25" track w/96 studs.
and i cant seem to find a NICE skidoo triple for the money.

what kind of handling are these things? and how many horses do you think it has?
also this viper has been in a magazine. it looks very sharp too.

It won't handle the bumps as good as your doo unless the skid has been changed, but it will handle just as good or better in the twisty's. It should fly by the 600 doo in a race. Piped viper is around 145hp.

Nothing major that i know of. They are very reliable if well maintained just like anything els. Not as reliable with pipes though, unless properly set up. By your description of the sled being in a magazine and all, it sounds like it was done right.

if you do a search on here you will find some old discussions about the questions you just asked. i beleive there was a comparison on differnt pipes and also gas mileage with different pipes.

i thought hauck pipes with his heads was around 153-155

Bender claims 153 with there pipes to but i don't believe it. Maybe in ideal conditions. Most of the dyno sheets i've seen are around 145hp with just pipes and jetting. It could be more with the hauck heads and whatever els they do.

awesome to hear. what about the MPG? how many MPG do you think it should roughly get.

Some say 5-7mpg others get about 10mpg. It depends how hard you ride, and in what conditions, either way its not good. My viper is piped, i love the sound and power. Gas mileage dosn't really matter to me.

one main question, this will be mainly a trail sled. are vipers smooth to ride? as in they can stay at a speed for a longer period of time? or are they jumpy. and i trail ride from 50-70 kmph..

I trail ride at 50-70 MPH with my viper. It depends what you mean by jumpy. If you have ohlins shocks it will ride very nice and stable if you set it up that way. My viper has the ohlins on the front and rear. After adjusting and testing i have it riding the way i like it, and have no problem keeping up with other sleds. Except my nephew. He also rides a viper but he's always way out in front. 20 years old and no fear lol..

I have a stock 02 Viper ER with 11,500 miles on her and ran Hard two weekends ago ( 240 miles on Saturday) Pulled 110mph on speedo all day! You are piped so she will run faster and my only concern would be Temps and jetting. I am not afraid to crank her up for long stretches and she treats me fine. My old SRX I would run to the bar on big lakes and rivers for 5 mile runs and never had any issues. It's a Yamaha if its set up right she handle anything you put at it! Good luck

If it was stock you could run it wide open all day. Because its piped its probably not a good idea to do really long runs unless you know the jetting is right on for the conditions. If you do, just burp the throttle on and off i bit when slowing down. Thats when it will be the leanest, and have the greatest chance of meltdown. Before you do any kind of wide open runs check the plugs and piston wash after some short runs. Check the jetting and ask the builder whats been done. Also check with hauck if you can to get jetting specs for that engine with pipes. I don't run mine wide open for more than 1/2 mile at a time. But i will cruise the trails all day at 70mph sometimes 100mph. I'm always burping the throttle when letting off. So far i've put on 900 miles this year with no problem.
