Clutch realignment after adding elec start?

If I align my clutches and then remove the primary to add the electric start gear, do I need to re-align when I reassemble assuming I don't move the motor to run the wiring and mount the starter motor?

I was thinking that my primary would move and I would need to shim my secondary the same thickness as the gear but I am now wondering if the gear only gets in the way of tools that slip over the stationary half of the primary and that the measurement is different not the alignment?

I looked up the microfiche for the secondary clutch and the only different part is the bolt that holds the clutch on, all other part numbers are the same.

Any thoughts or did I just make something confusing that didn't need to be?

Thanks,
Al

Yes, the gear will get in the way of a tool that slips over the stationary half of the primary. The alignment is the same without the gear, just check your alignment and then remove the primary and install the gear. Only the offset changes the thickness of the gear on the back of the primary. Or you could use a Sled Pro tool.
