installed 8dn-20 's with the recomended rivets ( 3.6's I think) and I 've got the RPM close - @ 8400 -it sometimes goes down to 81-8200 also-but man it feels like a turd in the midrange-still not very good top end. It has the stock primary spring, I'll have to get #'s off the helix to see what I got on it there( I think I have a 51/42 w/green spring). I guess my question is : Should I get a different primary spring to raise engagement-little more RPM??? Any suggestions would help I guess.
Thanks,
Matt
Also-sled has 5500miles on it too-it could be worn out(primary spring)

Are you running pipes or stock exhaust?
Is your helix your using the stock helix or A/M? Post Part# or Helix angles/Brand
What size rollers are you using?
What kind of riding is this sled being used for?

Sorry -
02' Viper -stock pipe
aftermarket helix - 51/42 I think - green sec.spring
Primary is stock except for the 8DN-20's I put in it last year to get the rpm's down from the previous year. At first we had 4.5's-3.6's for rivets, then we changed it to 3.6's in both holes to get the R's back up. Sled now engages low-@ 3500 - I think the primary spring is sacked out. I may have a stock 98'srx700 spring-I could try that(I can't remember the color code G-W-G maybe?)
The sled is a buddy's dad's viper, We are working on him to buy a new apex next year....
Thanks again guys

stock viper prmary spring is a y/w/y, thats 45/128kg
a g/w/g is 45/136kg
but a stock 98 srx700 has a g/g/g, and its a 40/131
a viper also uses 14.5mm rollers which lower engagement rpm andshift speed.
I think you need to take apart the stuff and see exactly what you have in there, tuff to guess what stuff is and get a solution.
