TRIED MANY COMBO'S WITH THE HEELCLICKERS AND JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET TOP SPEED WITH THEM,OUT OF THE HOLE AMD MIDRANGE IS CRAZY WILD.i HAVE ALL CLUTCHES OFF,PRIMARY AND SECONDARY AND WILL RIP THEM APART AND START OVER.GOING TO USE MY SPARE CLUTCH THIS TIME INSTEAD OF THE ORIGINAL ONE FROM THE SRX.MAYBE THAT WOULD TELL ME SOMETHING..I DUNNO............
I HAVE 3 SIZE OF ROLLERS TO USE...14.5G/15 G/15.6 G.WILL START WITH THE 15.6 GRAM ROLLERS FIRSTLY.I WON'T LOAD UP THE MOTOR TO HEAVY WITH THE WEIGHTS THIS TIME.i WILL START WITH WHAT THE MANUAL SAYS TO USE. IT CALLS FOR 4.3 G HEEL AND 3.3 G MIDDLE AND 3.3 G TIP.nOW THIS IS PROBABLY MEANT TO GO WITH A 50/40 HELIX THAT THE MANUAL SUGGESTS.
I HAVE A 50/38 HELIX,SO MAYBE I WILL GO A LITTLE MORE ON TIP.fOR MORE TOP END IT IS SUGGESTED TO MOVE THE MIDDLE WEIGHT TO THE TIP.tHAT WOULD THEN BE 6.6 G TIP THEN.
LAST WEEKEND I
TRIED WITH 15.6 ROLLERS 5 GRAMS HEEL AND 7 GRAMS IN TIP AND AT WOT WAS AT 8200 RPM.I HIT 104 MPH WITH THAT.SO I WENT AND ADDED 5.4 TO HEEL AND 6.1 IN TIP AND WAS HITTING 8500 WOT ,BUT NOT GAINING TOP END SPEED MORE THEN 100 MPH.PROBABLY LOADED HEEL TO MUCH.
ALSO TRIED WITH 15MM ROLLERS WITH 5.4 HEEL AND 7 G TIP.ON HARDPACKED SNOW WAS OUT OF THE GATE AT 8000-8100 AND CLIMBS TO 8500-8600,BUT COULD NOT REACH MORE THEN 100 MPH AGAIN.MIND YOU LAST WEEKEND WAS WARM AND THE SNOW PROBABLY DRAGGED ME DOWN A BIT IN SPEED.BUT STILL...WHERE IS MY 110-115 MPH THAT I SHOULD BE REACHING EASY LIKE.

PERF. TRANSFER RODS,BEEFED UP W-ARM,NEEDLE BEARING IN FRONT SKID SHOCK INSTEAD OF RUBBER BUSHINGS,TRACK HAS 1.5 DEFLECTION WITH 16 LBS OF PULL ON SCALE,POWER VALVES CLEANED AND ADJUSTED,CARBS CLEANED THRU OUT AND ADDED 47.5 PILOTS FOR LEAN BOG AND IDLE ISSUES,NO STUDS ON TRACK THIS TIME AROUND.
HAVE NO HEATING ISSUES AND DCS DOES NOT COME ON SINCE I RE-JETTED TO 01 SRX SPECS AND USING PREMIUM FUEL.PLUGS A NICE COLOR ALL THE TIME.OUT OF THE HOLE THE SLED HOOKS UP VERY GOOD IF I HIT A GOOD HARD PACKED SNOW,OTHERWISE IT WILL SPIN RIGHT OUT AND PROBABLY OVERSHIFT THE CLUTCHES.

What speeds were you hitting with stock clutching?
What makes you think if you just jump to a turbo 4S youll beable to tune that sled in if you dont have the patiences to tune your SRX?
Im in no way trying to get you mad or giving you attitude, just trying to get the facts straight. You have to remember alot of the known tuners on here say H/C's are in no way ez to tune esp. for a novice tuner. Thats why I have 2 sets of H/C's waiting to be put on my sleds and Im willing to bet I have less patience than you do. Thats why I havent installed them, Ill be sending at least one them to Don so he can work his magic. But as many posts I have read of yours about H/C's, if I were you I would already went back to stock and just rode the thing.

Throw the stock clutching back in same day same conditions & see if it is the clutching that is slowing you down.

FAIR ENOUGH.PATIENCE IS SURELY NEEDED AND i DON'T MIND TAKING THE CLUTCHES OFF AND RE-ADJUSTING,BUT NOT GETTING THERE.THAT IS A REALLY GOOD SUGGESTION YOU HAVE MADE THEIR TURK.THAT WOULD REALLY TELL ME SOMETHING ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.WOULD SET UP THE 2 CLUTCHES,ONE WITH HC'S AND ONE WITH 8DN'S AND TRY THE SAME DAY,WITHIN AN HOUR APART AND SEE WHAT THAT TELLS ME.
FOUND MY 8DN'S AND THEY WERE LOADED UP 4.5 GRAMS EACH HOLE AND HAD 2 WASHERS WITH EACH ALSO ADDED WHEN THEY WHERE POUNDED IN.CAN'T REMEMBER WHY IT IS THAT WAY,BUT WILL TRY THEM.THEY WEIGH 55.1 GRAMS TOTAL EACH.SO LOOKS LIKE 5.5 G PER HOLE.

Try the marker line on the primary clutch with both setups to see if one pushes the belt higher than the other and just how high does the belt go as well there blue.
Just a thought, following TURKS suggestion(having two primary's loaded/ run one setup/ record results/swap primary/make secound run/record results) that would be the only way to compare one against the other with the same riding conditions. Analytical method---no BS---results will proove and steer you in the right direction. Having read your previous posts,your keeping great notes on results,just need to do it back to back. I have a set of HC in my 2000 SRX -off the line and midrange are incredible, but, like you dont seem to see a huge difference in top end. I'm with ya man KEEP GOING!

COULD I STILL RUN THE 8DN'S WITH THE 50/38 HELIX,PROBABLY.i RAN MARKS ON THE PRIMARY AND BELT RIDES UP TO ABOUT 1/4" FROM THE TOP.sOME OF YOU GUYS RUN A 60 WRAP ON SECONDARY.THIS PROBABLY WORKS WELL UNDER WELL PACKED CONDITIONS WITH NO LOOSE SNOW,OTHERWISE YOU WOULD GET BELT SLIPPING.THE 70 WRAP IS PROBABLY YOUR MIDDLE ZONE TO RIDE IN.80 WRAP IS PREFERED WHEN YOU RIDE MORE LOOSE SNOW AND MOREWETTER SNOW FOR A BETTER GRIP WHEN TRACK IS UNDER A LOAD.

You got your rpm right at this point - what springs are you using and where do you have them set? - you might need to go with a 50/38 helix - just my 2 cents

Primary Has Red Hc Spring And Secondary Has Green Spring At 70 Wrap.if Someone Has A 50/36 For Sale Let Me Know .or Is There A Better Helix Combo That Would Even Work Better.

I would go back to basics . Check a couple things like power valves again and gearing. (one power valve pull through will have you messing with clutch set ups for a long time and get you no where) I have seen them pull through right after cleaning and adjusting. If you are running to within 1/4 inch of top of sheave and reaching RPM, MPH should be there if geared properly. I have run the heel clickers on other sleds and yes they are harder to find top speed with. Not impossible though and you will be happy you stuck with it in the end.

SOME SAY THAT ABOUT 8BU-00 WEIGHTS, GREAT DRAG RACE, CRAP TOP END. I RUN THEM IN MY 2002 SRX AND HAVE RUN THIS SLED UP TO 1 MILE W/O AND STILL PULL HARD. GUESS YOU HAVE TO FIND THAT SWEET SPOT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Long travel will slow you down, if you want to go fast, redrill your limiter straps about 2 inches down and suck them up, run sx sliders, that alone gained me about 5 mph, done within 2 hours on radar gun.

My 02 has long travel suspension and it will bury the speedo on hard pack - I do run the limiters tight though - I'm curious about the SX sliders also!!
