So I was trying to adjust the spring settings on my shocks for a little softer ride.....I have tried that spanner tool and they will not loosen or tighten for that matter!!!! I even tried heating them up a little....any ideas without complete skid removal....fronts are stuck too!!!! Must be a better tool with more leverage out there, right????

yes I did!!! I even took the fronts out heated them and hit them with a hammer and chisel. I don't know how much heat they can take though so I stopped earlier than I probably could have....I had a shock blow up once under heat and am a little torch shy since!

these suspensions are awful! Really our sleds are well maintained and this is a joke! Our old poos never had this problem....guess I'll just beat the crap out of it. Seriously thinking about putting edge skids in or something.

heat doesnt work well with a steel nut on a aluminum shock body, the alum expands 2 times faster then the steel does.

get the lock nut loose first by soaking with wd-40 and a sharp strike with a blunt punch on the lock nut only. Once you get the lock nut loose try grabbing ahold of the spring and turning the whole works, it usually will turn the nut and get it loose, I turn the springs with your bare hands, the best grip, gloves will slip.
