Ok, I had a mysterious melt down on the Phazer, I started investigating by pulling the carbs and checking for blockage/ice. Nothing. I then completely disassembled the complete fuel system, installed a new fuel filter. The filter was old but, not plugged. I disassembled the motor. All I could find wrong was a severely melted piston and a badly scuffed cylinder. I ordered up a gasket set and piston, started matching a new jug. Since the bottom end was nearly new I figured I would just thoroughly wash out the case and rebuild the top end. I poured some mixed gas into the case and a steady stream rolled out of the exhaust side. There is a perfectly round hole about 8mm in diameter in line with the connecting rod on the cylinder that melted. I have no idea how that hole got there or how long it has been there.
So, Now I have an all new bottom end. I'm still waiting for the seal that goes on the oilpump drive which seals on the back of the primary clutch. I'm getting very anxious.
I've been riding the old SRV. A good old sled but, not the Phazer.
