Just wondering, how will an 03 viper compare with an 01 Skidoo MXZ 600 in a race? There's no rideable snow around here but it should be coming, my buddy has the MXZ and I'm sure we'll line them up at least once when we do get some snow. I just want to know what I should expect. My sled is as listed in my sig, no mods, but has a fresh motor and a 1.5" track. I think my belt is at about the end of its life, it sits below the top of the secondary and has a few burn spots on it. How is that going to affect things? I'm thinking the belt is gonna hurt me along with the deeper track. I don't know much about clutching, but I'm pretty sure everything is stock.

I'm thinking you should be putting a new belt on before racing anyone. You've got a little more hp than him but I think he'll give you a run for awhile. Top speed I beleive you'll take him.

Should be Viper, but if your sled is in a poor state of tune (which it sounds to be) I say he smokes ya.

PS - no offense, just going by your post. Clean the PV, put a new belt on, make sure your clutching is hitting its marks and he doesn't stand a chance. I raced the 700 version of that sled last year. Other then smoking me off the line he was no match.

It's not as bad as it seems. The PV's are clean and adjusted. The belt just isnt that great, other than that the sled has only 1500 miles on it so the clutches should still be fine.
