Hey guys,

I recently found hair line cracks parts of my primary clutch on the sliding sheave and stationionary sheave, priced new parts from yamaha and found it to be quite spendy. So I found a used clutch in good shape. Well I didnt bring my old clutch with when I bought it. When I got it home and compared the two, the new one did not have set screws on the weight pins. Is this going to be a problem???

I wanted to ride, so I swapped all my weights and springs in and it works fine, Only one slight problem is that it maxes at about 8900 rpms, but that could be due to weak clutch spring i think or something in the secondary. On the other hand it engages right where it is suppose. Any suggestions

By the way the sled is all stock, 2001 Yamaha SX700

no problem at all ...run er!!!!...did you change the rollers too?..they may have different size rollers ...be sure to swap them out too!

Yes I changed everything.

Why did yamaha have some with set screws and others with out. Did they make a change because the pins would turn in and wear out or what??

lol....dont know...just another reason why a yamaha engineer should be fired!
