Well its stock with an 1.25" track. My buddy weighs another 100lbs over me and he can stand the sled up on a good day while with me it just spins to beat hell. Transfer rods are loosened all the way, but I cant see that making a difference with they go maybe 3/32" down on the bottom for gap. the FPA is in the middle with the front shock preload stiffend up maybe 15mm and the back one is softened up maybe 10mm. It rides like shit and now it corners like shit. I weigh about 145-150 in gear. I need some guru to chime in on set-up. It has about 3300miles on it. I want a revalve/rebuild but I'm waiting till next season. How can I get good transfer but still corner. It was pushing the front end with c&a extremes. Thanks a ton. Also should I loosen up the front end too. I dont think it bottoms ever, how much should I go. I tends to jar me around. I ride really aggressive and still I can get the rear to bottom even though it dont transfer and its really harsh. Maybe I shouldnt do 75-80 over moguls but I thought thats what the viper was made for, not some trail crusier for the wife.

Not to add insult but my wife rides our viper. LOL I have 2 suggestions for you. First try and set everything to STOCK set up. See what you have for handling. You are lighter than most, that is a small problem. Check the tech pages set your sag then you will have a good starting point. Hard to say who has done what to the sled. I have a bud that weights about 150 with a bender equiped viper I adjusted and adjusted on the thing sure the ski's will lift but the cornering and ride suffered tremendously. My second suggestion is EXPERT-X if you want traction, transfer with out handling suffering this is what you want. These are pretty much bullet proof. Well worth the investment. I changed out the skid on my viper-s 1200 miles, it was like buying a different sled. Check out my avitar <<<<<< big difference when I installed the Expert. The tech pages have alot of info. good luck post your results

I bought it new, so I know what it has, It handled great until I screwed with it. Maybe I'll soften it up and just let it bottom out so it'll break then I'll have an excuse for expert x. Kinda saving money up now for my built duramax tranny $6000 so I cant spend it for another month if that of riding. I wonder if I just put fpa on the softest and then play with the transfer rods until I get a 50/50 gap.

cheaper way to get good overall performance is the mono-shock. its light, easy install, usually decently priced, and the transfer and handling is great. no big increase in height and it doesnt sit high in back and low in the front. nicely balanced and it rides/handles fantastic. just another option :) I LOVE mine :)

I've got an 03 Viper stock Viper as well. I weight about 190 with gear and I can't get it to lift the skiis. All I have done is adjusted the transfer rods to the red mark, and a touch back to be safe. Still can't get it to lift.
I will have to try adjusting the two shocks in the back next weekend I guess. Not even sure if that will work. Might need to try the limiter strap as well? I'd like a little lift in the front... is that too much to ask?

think o fthe skid like a see-saw. stiffen the center shock so it acts like a pivot point and soften the rear so it can squat. loosen the limiter straps as far as you can as well. probably wont handle great, but it should lift pretty well. what are you running for a track as well?

1.25" ski-doo (camoplast) renegade track. I think I'll try loosening the fra to the sofest setting and then playing with the preload so I can get down pat. I dont want to play with the limiters. I did stiffen the front preload on the shock and that almost made it ride worse, sure it dont bottom as easy but its not great. Thanks for the help so far. Any ideas on set in for the rear from the grab bar to the ground. For adjusting set-in, do I just adjust preload on the rear shock?

True, but the transfer rods have to do something and I dont want to add slide wear.
