All years 700 triples the same?

Are all the 700 npv triples the same?Is there carb size,porting,etc. differences from vmax,mm,sxr?What year did they come out?

Pretty sure they are all the same. They first came out in 1997 with the SX and Mountain Max.

i would agree the 700 triples npv are the red head motors. 1 of yamahas strongest motors just my 2cents

arent the crankshaft bearings different on the 97 models and the 98 and above models.

yea there was an update in 98....one of our 97s has 7300+ miles and is just fine...im going to put piston rings in it for the first time this summer just to be safe

The crank bearing and the case bolt pattern are different from 97 to 98.

I think its actually the mag bearing. Switched from a ball bearing to a roller.
