my srx is fouling plugs when helded wide open on a hillclimb after about 5 or 6 climbs, earlier this season it was fouling plugs on startup, so i cleaned the valves and carbs, valves seem to be fine, and i check the stator which falls with in tech. book spec., i also checked wires to cdi on top of foot well, and handlebar wires, which look fine,i ran some of that yamaha's heet,in case of water in the gas, i due run low grade gas and BR9ES plugs, and citgo oil, which i have done forever in all my yamahas, including about 5 different srx's and a couple sx's, and all my friends do the same with no trouble, it is fouling the plugs all the way across the cylinders, it starts with fouling pto, then middle, and mag, then starts all over again with pto, and so on, i thought i might be getting engine to wet with dust so i taped the vents all shut and have the coolant on in the carbs but doesn't seem to help,

Use premium Gas ONLY.. (the little sticker on the hood cowl), Use a good 2 stroke oil, NOT Citgo.. Preferably synthetic. AMSOIL Klotz even yamalube semi synthetic, then buy new plugs. NGK BR9ES or the IRIDIUM version.

I have went through plugs like CRAZY on my srx also! I recently added pipes, So I jetted it myself. It was running pretty damn rich before the pipes, And now it run in an "ok" area. But I have some mods done so premiem is a MUST! Check jetting, and be sure to use the proper starting procedure! The correct starting helps alot!
