why is the belt on the secondary on my 00 srx flush with the sheaves? i have enough shins to the point were i don't need them. new belt, offset and elignment is good. green spring, or maybe its not to worry about? how much will it effect full shifting out.

the little bolts that hold the shims need to be replaced, they wear down after time.

yes, but aren't they used to spread the sheaves. and shims are for bringing the sheaves closer for more belt height?

Actually your within spec(1.5mm above to 0.5 below),but you want it as tight as you can with out squeal..
the bolts and or plate behind can wear out so you wont get the results your after with the adj. bolts..
add shims to squeeze remove to spread

well, while testing the sled this weekend, it started to squeal. and while idling on the stand the track was starting to turn. The belt is riding just above the sheaves. maybe try a newer belt?

Are you saying you took all the shims out and it's still too tight? Then you need new bolts or the stopper plate is worn, you can just try to flip the stopper plate.
You mentioned the fact where you belt is riding, what is important is the belt deflection, get the deflection correct and where the belt ends up in the secondary is predicated on belt length and center to center distance.
