I have the stock yellow/white/yellow and would like to bring the RPMs up at engagement about 400 rpms without raising the WOT rpms.
Right now I have two engagement shims in and it raised the engagement but also raised the peak rpm.
Any spring sugestions?
Thanks, Sno-Xr

there's a couple of ways to approach this, one way that may work is if the shims gave you the engagement you wanted ,but raised your top rpm. find a spring w/ similar start preload w/ less rate or total force. like a www. this spring starts the same , but ends w/ slightly less load. something I just tried on my srx was oversized primary rollers. engagement rose 400 rpm & my total shift rpm didn't. mid range & initial became awesome. I think it slows down the rate at which the primary closes in the beginning & middle, but ends the same. I was pleasantly surprised. another thing that was nice, it tightened up the belt to sheave clearance & gave me a super feeling engagement. (clean & smoothe, not bangy at all )either way will work. test, study, learn ,,,,repeat!!!
Thanks todd, I like the sounds of the rollers! Sounds like excactly what Im looking for.

Roller size will affect shift rpm!!! Smaller rollers will shift out more aggresively dropping rpm...

a max perf srx red would have fit the bill almost perfectly, but they have gone out of buss. your stock spring is 45/128, the maxx red is a 52.5/130. If you can find one youd be golden.
toddmods method can work also, thats great tod, your thinking outside the box to get desired results, thats great!! good job!! As he posted he also went to a less shift force primary spring, you have to do that also with the roller change.

I have a dalton 53/133 that may work for you. Sent you a PM.
Thanks for the replys.
I'll see what I can find in a spring. Jay , I will let you know if I dont find anything a little closer.
Do they make a heavier rivet then the 4.5 gram? If so who and where?
Thanks again.

the best investment when you are clutching is a gram scale. Best tool I purchased.
I am now going to the hardware store for nuts, bolts and washers and not rivets.
You can bring a pocket gram scale to the store with you and weight the nut, bolt combo and use washers to fine tune.

I have pinched standard washers in with the 4.5 to add a little wieght, if I am not mistaken the approprite ID sized stadard washer wieghed in around .5, you can fit one on each side easilly before you compress the rivet.
Pioneer carrys a "Blue" primary at 52.5 - 125, it would be pretty close with you may lose a tad on top
