Leak down test ?

If your talking for the cyl's i use a 100psi, it should hold at least 90psi no more then 10% leakage is what ya want..

I want to check for leakage thru the crankcase halves, the crank seals also, the base gaskets. 10% leakage per minute ? Thanks !

How do you go about doing a leak down test?

I want to learn how to do a leak down test on my sleds. Is there a write up on the site that I haven't seen? Could someone list some steps to do one?

Thanks,

Bruce

before on it..

Here is a LINK on the fundamentals and how to perfrom a leakdown test. It is for 4 cycle engine but the principle is the same. For anyone contemplating on buying a leakdown gauge tester, go with the two gauge unit instead of the single.
