I have to say its the nicest seld in a while that ive seen.
ill post pics later!
But, how much horsepower will it have, and it has a can..

First off welcome to the greatest Yamaha site youll find on the net.

Yamaha HP claim is 120HP, but some claim it to be between 115-120HP

I don't thinks a can will help you with HP. It will just make it louder and at best maybe slightly lighter. I run just stock exhaust but have read on here that certain cans will actually decrease HP. I think you would need to go with triple pipes for any serious HP gains. can't wait to see the pics !

Welcome

Good luck with your Viper it's should be a rock hard strong running sled. Some think they ride hard but with a good suspension set up it should ride good for you. I have 11,500 miles on my ER and still runs very well! Hope you can get the same. Do a search on here and check the Tech section and you will learn anything you need to know!

Did it come with the stock can? Just curious because I have tested a few and they all lost power quite significantly. Do you know what mfg. the can is?

Welcome to the site,,yes put the stock can back on,that AM one is doing
you no good.

clean carbs and power valves is one thing you should do ASAP,who know's
when it's been done last..

pull and inspect/clean clutches too

Yep, the Bender has a copper/nickel look to it's finish. Yamaha really made it hard on us with the exhaust on this sled. I wish I could run a silencer to lose weight and achieve some of that sweet triple music. I just hate throwing performance away and the ones I tested were drastic in my case testing against another constant Viper. I would have been happy with no gain, but no loss either ,which is what I found on the older 700SX. I had a Bender can on that and in testing ,it was basically the same as stock. I had one sled, '97 600SX, that actually was faster with the GYT can on it. This exhaust can thing has made me wonder........do these mfg's actually test these things or just come up with some contraption and go ahead and sell it??? In the Vipers case, if properly designed, I think it could be done along with having a better sound and a lighter design. You would most likely have to achieve the same backpressure, identicle charge cycle and heat retention to achieve stock results.

If I remember right the claim was around 124 hp. But that may or may not have included the forced air (snow) induction that was supposed to add 4 hp at higher speeds. It is also good for getting snow and ice over every part under your hood.
