Search for power valve in the search forum, Or if you have a service manual it will show you how to properly adjust your valves, and the cables,
Just requires time and patience, I use 2 3mm allen wrenches, as a guide when adjusting, Some take the exhaust off and feel up into the port for adjustment... I have always done mine according to yamaha.

what you got to do to adjust your power valves is you take the cover of you power valve servo wich is 3 phillips screws, start your sled and turn the idle down below 1000rpm's and until you see the servo open the power until the servo stops then turn sled off and make sure the servo is still turned all the way. Then take the 2 allen key bolts at the end of each power valve and pull the end until it stops. what you got to do know is mesure that gap to make sure its 2 to 3mm. Which is about a coat hangner thick. if there is more than 2 to 3mm then what you got to do is adjust the cable in or out at the servo motor which is a 10mm nut. try that
