What year GPX's would it be if Vin's start with either 888 or 889. Also are these pipes pictured stock pipes found on an GPX 338. They look nothing like the ones on a 443. They have alot longer head pipe. Also what kind of HP did the 338G and 443G make in the GPX.

888 WAS 75 GPX 338. 889 WAS 75 GPX 433. THOSE ALMOST LOOK LIKE GYT PIPES. STOCK 338 GPX WAS 58 hp. STOCK 75 433 WAS 72. !! 3:16 (yammie tony)

Thanks Tony I knew you would come through. Appreciate the info. One more question what would be my target rpm on both. If these are GYT pipes do they run at a different rpm than the stock 338 pipes. This sled seems to look like it was set up for speed. The Chassis is drilled out in a few different locations to reposition the front cross shaft on the suspesion. It seemes to clutched and has round slide Mikuni's. Looking forward to playing with this sled.

I WOULD HAVE TO DIG INTO MY 75 GRASS/ ICE RACE MANUAL TO GIVE YA GYT RPM. I BELIEVE STOCK WAS 7200. GYT STUFF REALLY ADDED POWER AND GOT RPM UP TO AROUND 9000. I WILL CHECK FOR YA TO BE SHURE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Thanks again DUDE. One more question. Why did the 338 chassis have the pipes exit into the tunnel and the 443 exit out the bottom of the belly pan like most sleds.

All GPX exit out the side of the tunnel. If they go out the bottom then you have an Exciter belly pan on. The Exciter pans and bodies are the same right up to 77' except for where the pipes exit.

Are the Vin # the same. The 433 I have seems to be all original with vin# starting with 889. It has the hole that goes into the tunnel but has a factory installed plate that covers it up. The pipes do exit out the belly pan. What does Exciter Vin #'s start with.
