I have a 2000 SRX that will start and idle fine (the headlight does not come on) but as you bring the revs up it dies like you shut the switch off and the lights monentarily try to come on as it dies. If you play with the throttle when it is idleing you can get it past this spot and the lights come on and it goes ahead and revs up. Any ideas where I should look? I have swapped out all of the relays with another SRX and ran the tests on the stator and am still coming up empty handed.

OH MY GOD, JUST WENT THROUGH THIS ON MY 2000 SRX. FIRST YOU HAVE TO BYPASS TORS. THAN YOU WILL NEED TO TRACK YOUR WHOLE WIRING HARNESS. CHECK FOR RUB THROUGH OR FLAT,IN WIRES. PROBLEM OCCURS UNDER COOLANT HOSE. ALSO CAN BE UP BY STEERING POST. REROUTE HARNESS AND RAP IN CONUIT. PROBLEM SOLVED. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Just did this last weekend, same scenarios, kept getting worse, then finally went to no spark. Customer brought it over and I layed a harness over the sled and plugged it in, problem solved. The harness was rubbed through under the coolant hose that goes to the water pump.
I doubt the harness will be rubbed up by the steering post because the 00 has a clip to hold it away from the post, if it was a 98 I was say to check there, they did not have the clip.
