the other day i went to clean my carbs and i took the bowl off the bottom of the middle carb, and when you first take the bowl there is this plastic ring its kinda white alomost tan color, and i forgot to put it back in when putting the carb together, does anybody know what that peice is and does, and what might happen if it was left out and the sled was to be run?

thanks

sounds like you are referring to the main jet washer......its purpose is to maintain fuel flow around the main jet in bumps etc.....was it just floating around in the bowl? because its supposed to be fixed around the main jet collar...

anyhow...i can't say that its critical that it be in there but if it were mine, i would be putting it back in. I lose sleep over crap like that......but thats just me... :winterrul

Yes there is a purpose and yes you should put it back!! Exactly like viperino said.....I lose sleep over that stuff too...LMAO :itchy:

if you look in the bowl you will see a recessed ring were it fits when the bowl is put back on.below it,in the bowl is the well area were under bompy conditions it can maintain a steady flow of fuel because that small depression is a very small area.thats piece sort of traps the fuel in that spot.if not there it could lean out under certain conditions.on the old 2 smoke mx bikes there was a after market bowl that did the same thing,by boyssen.
