I put the riding off with the wife for another week, to go riding with the guys...
Well of course it happened......blew out the drive axle bearings.
I searched here and wore out google.... has anybody found the speedo side bearing in the aftermarket ?? I also need the seals for the chaincase side....going to replace the bearings there also.... Has 5600 miles...
Wife said we better be going to UP this weekend.... leaving friday morning.. so I need help ASAP
Thanks.

NTN number is ***205-100N for the clutch side drive bearing. This is the collared one.

If you don't find the info needed on here, take the old bearings to a place specializing in bearings. Locally we have bearings inc. or bearings belts and chains inc. They should be able to get you what you need. Also, take the NTN number taylzee provided. Might make it easier to look up. If they don't have it in stock they should be able to get it the next day.

I forgot about the swear word thing. The first three letters of that NTN number are a-s-s without the ---.

I've replaced my share of bearings in all sorts of equipment and unless I'm mistaken if you get a -100 bearing it will be a 1" ID and not the 25mm ID that the shaft takes. The NTN number for the speedo side drive axle is UB205 and its dimensions are 52mm OD 25mm ID.The chaincase ones are the common 6205s.

Thanks guys.....got the metric collared bearing located....(pain in the arse)... and got the seals located...have the rest of them.....
Looks like a late night Friday....as the bearings are not going to be in until Friday 10 am.... and the place is 1 hour away. Just hope all goes well...no time for re-engineering.

be prepared to beat the original off. they rivet them in. Other than that the install goes smooth. We just did ours at 5700miles on our 97.
Good Luck!!

It's all apart.....nothing riveted. Actually very easy to come apart...nothing froze to shafts, housings, broken bolts...etc. I guess one benefit of enclosed trailer....no salt.

You should have NOT said "Actually very easy to come apart...nothing froze to shafts, housings, broken bolts...etc. I guess one benefit of enclosed trailer....no salt." you just never say that till it is all back together and running.

LOL....I will just blame those problems on "rushing to put it back together"....That way I can blame the wife.
so what was the number?and what did it cost?

MFG....AMI
part#....BR5
cost....$15.88
Sled went back together like a dream.....I added extra wheel bearing grease to the pto side bearings.... (maybe make them last longer....also a new yearly maintenance scheduled cleaning and packing.)
Loaded up sleds...and headed for the trails.
Ride was excellent....went to an area that I had never been too... wife was a little slow (read VERY nervous)... probably pulled over 4 times in 3 miles to let others pass. After about 10 miles she was getting alot better.
Never really thought about the overwhelming WOW factor of sledding to someone that has never been on the trails before. She only put about 80 miles on her sledlast year at my parents farm. We put on 78 miles yesterday...all trail. She was having a blast.... but was sad when she realised we were back to the truck....
