I've been reading my piston wash and feel its not enough. The size on the piston is roughly half the size of a pencil eraser. This is read on two spots on the rear of the piston. The plugs color up a nice cardboard color. The electrode has no carbon build up on the ground strap. I had thought the carbon should be up the ground strap to at least the curve of the ground. Any thoughts? ---Mac---

they say roughly the size of your pinky finger nail, so your kinda close maybe a little lean if what your saying.

wash - plug reading

I read about the pinky nail size as well but that leaves alot to be determined. Everyone has a different size pinky. My wash is about 1/4 inch. Would their be much difference between say 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 wash? By changing larger by one main jet size change the wash size? Below is another good site about plug readings. Picture 13 shows carbon on the ground strap begining to climb from the base of the threads. I read somewhere the carbon should climb up to the bend in the ground strap. My plugs look like pic 19 and have no carbon on the ground strap. I'm going to change mains untill carbon reaches the bend in the strap. If you click on each pic is shows beter detail.
