The poll is bogus... everyone is for hand signals....its the improper ones that most of us are against!
 
Unfortunately the middle finger hand signal does not get seen by the oncoming guy that blows his corner, nearly crashing into you.

stay on the right, damnit!
 
I believe they are good as long as they are administered properly. THe thing I dont like is when you come to somone giving you the close fisted, last person signal and then there is another group right behind them. If this is the case when Im in the back I give a closed fist but then I point behind me so at least they are concious of some sort of hazard lays ahead.

I know sometimes a group will sneak in behind me as I don't have mirrors and I usually am the last in line. Truth is I usually don't know there back there cause my sled is loud and I am focused on the wife to make sure she isn't in trouble. I also point if I know there back there.
