I am undecided as to which lightweight brake rotor to go with. I am trying to choose between the wave rotor and hub, or the Mountain Performance rotor and hub. I am not too concerned on appearance, but am interested in creating less rotating mass. I am leaning towards the wave rotor, since it has less material near the outer edges, which should, in theory, have less rotating mass. Supposedly the wave rotor saves 2lbs. and the mountain performance saves 2.2lbs. They are both about the same cost. What do you guys think?

i used the wave for a couple seasons, braking was very good. it did use pads up faster than the stocker.
you may want to ask what the mpi one is made of. when looking for rotors i found one company that made thiers from aluminum and coated it with ceramic. they said it was only for mountain sleds as it would come undun in a trail sled.WTF. i dont know what company it was but they were a mountain catering company.
the weights are off of the original rotors that came on sleds befor 2000. these were heavier than the srx rotors, that were heavier than the viper rotors. as i remember my wave in the end was only 1.5 lighter than the stock viper rotor which is the lightest.

I have the wave rotor and no problems so far. Second season riding with it. As you know the trails here in Hanmer have alot of twisties so brakes do get used often.

Well, since it is only going on my radar sled, I am not concerned about the braking power. I am only concerned about saving on weight and rotating mass.

I cant really tell you the differnece it made since I trail ride and have not run the gun yet with my sled. I will be running this weekend with a buddy of yours.
