Hey all! I need some help. I noticed the other day while riding at night that my dash lights were dim on my 02 SRX (11,000kms) I had the hand warmers on high because it was really cold with a strong wind chill -35C 
. I turned them down and the lights were brighter on the dash. Then I notice that when I hit the brake that the lights dimmed too. Also, when I put my highbeam on everything would go out..Dash lights headlight and tachometer. Then everything would comeback on. The whole time the motor was running fine and didn't stall or sputter. I don't ever recall the sled doing this before. The shop manual doesn't mention anything about this condition. What could it be??

Have you checked the wires under the engine for a rub through ?
yep and check the one that come from the hood where it move in the opening of the hood

THERE WERE NO RUB THROUGH ISSUES ON 2002 SRX. ACCORDING TO YAMAHA. I WOULD STILL CHECK IT. ALSO THERE WAS IN SEVERE COLD REGULATOR ISSUES. THIS IS SMALL BOX ABOVE CDI AT FOOTWELL. SOME 2002 SRX,s HEADLITES WOULD NOT COME ON AT ALL WHEN FIRST STARTING UP UNTIL ENGINE WARMED UP. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I was running some slushy lakes a few days earlier and I had a lot of slush come over the hood a couple of times. I've put the sled in the garage to thaw out. I will definately check for rub through and the hood connector.
