I have a chance to buy a set of SLP pipes for my 2002 700MM. Looking for a set up to run at 500 - 1500 ft. . Right now my primary is stock with 4.5 inner and outer, Secondary 51/43 green spring at 80* rpms top at 8400.Jetting set at 142.5 with the needles at 2.5 across. I also have a single layer head gasket which I know will have to be changed two layers am I right? Any ideas? Soc

Try 8cr's with 13.3 inner and 10.3 outer. with a blue -white -blue primary spring. sec. set at 70*. These pipes need to run at 8900 rpm! if rpm's arnt' high enough try 15 mm rollers. also need to jet to 147.5 across the board

I ride slightly higher, 2500-4000. Peak head with 21cc chambers (= 2 layers??!), 8cr's with 4.5 in both holes, stock rollers and stock springs with a 70 degree wrap on the 2ndary. It's dead on 8900 with 2.11 gearing.

145.0 straight across with 45 pilots. I am a little lean on bottom when it's warming up (but no bog once it's warm) so I am going to try 50's next season.

IMO, use Yammy's set up and change your secondary twist to 70 or maybe even 60. I had some of these and I ran them at 1600. I had 50 pilots 1.5 out on the screws and ran 150 main across. I did have a Q4 nozzle in the PTO. I also had my box gutted and 1 layer removed.

I used the stock primary and secondary springs with the weights as Yammy mentioned.

I was spinning right around 9000.

If I was doing these pipes again, I would leave the air box alone.

I have a 2001 SXR (redhead) 700 w/ SLP Pipes. I ran the recomended 8cr weight w/ 4.5 in both holes. Same primary as mentioned above for this setup and a green secondary @70 w/ a 45 helix. Always a Yamaha belt, 150 mains, stock pilot, moved clip on needle up one to #2 slot. Gutted airbox, reed spacers, v-force1 reeds, no gasket or engine mods. Engage around 4200 and settleback to 8800 from 9000. Ran this @ 500 to 3500 feet never below -20F for about 15,000 YES miles after running it stock for the first 2 seasons and still have not had that motor apart. Awesome corner to corner, not a lakeracer, as it has M-10 121" My gearing was 23/39, yours is probably different on the MM :2strokes:

Oh yeah, I forgot to add 14.5mm rollers and that blue/white/blue primary spring. I'm on my second inner primary sheave and currently installing the 4th track on this beast. :letitsnow
