If anyone has a later model two up seat with passenger warmers, i.e. Venture models or an added seat to existing one up, I need your help.
I just purchased a two up for my '02 Vmax and am unsure where the passenger warmer wires hook up to the actual sled. There are two long wires that are fed from each supporting warmer, both with three prongs (female) that extend to near the front of the seat that supposedly connect somewhere to the sled for electrical power, but I'm at a lose. The tail light is a seperate wire that plugs into the existing harness, but that leaves those warmer wires to dangle.
If anyone has one of these, maybe they could remove their seat and check. I'd be much appreciative.
Thanks,
Jon

Got another problem.....the wiring harness from the two-up that plugs into the sled harness is of a different type. It's an inline 3 and the sled harness is a boxed four plug. Also, the seat harness (inline 3) is a female plug while the acceptance plug from the sled is also a female. What was Yamaha thinking?
Anyway, is there an adapter for this or could I simply cut the other harness end off the original seat and splice it onto the two up? The wires all look to be the same color and the boxed four plug only uses three of the slots like the three plug. I'm sure this sounds confusing. Tom, I may be giving you another call. By the way, what kind of plug end do you have on both your seat and the sled?

I will be home tonight but you are correct, I did have to change over a plug from the seat to the sled by the gas tank ....and yes you can just use your own connectors and just go color for color

Thanks for the quick reply. I ended up doing just that by way of the quick disconnect wire connectors. That way, I can easily go back and forth if need be; for sure when I sell the seat someday.
Cheers,
Jon

The splicing worked like a champ. I have lights and warmers..............which equates to a happy passenger.

Gents, I need some help here... I need to find AC current under the seat.
I installed heater elements under the passenger rubber grips on my 1998 Vmax700 with 2-up Venture conversion.
The Venture seat I installed has the three prong harness (up front) - which clipped right into the three prong harness on the sled - next to the gas tank . So no problems there.
Now, the kit I installed has a Hi/Lo switch with resistor, which fit's perfectly into the slot where the OEM kit installs. I have everything wired up as per the directions.... NOW all I need is power!!
What plug do I tap into? I see there are a few clips available under the Venture seat.
2 x two wire harness (red/black & yellow/brown?)
1 x three wire harness (green/yellow?/?)
Like I said, all I need is to tap into an AC power source.
Power and ground are all I need.
....unfortunately I don't have a voltmeter!

Can't remember that sled off the top of my head, but the schematic is in the back of the manual.
Does it have to be AC?

I found the manual here http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/service/manuals/1998/lit-12628-01-93_557.pdf

...what wire's should I tap into (under the seat)?
My best guess is the three prong harness >> Green/Red "G/R" wire (using the Blue wire "L" as ground). OR DO I HAVE IT BACKWARDS?

Turns out the Blue wire is power. As per ground, anything bare metal on the sled will work.
Passenger heated grips + heated vest are now working!!!
I also tapped into the brown wire up by the headlight, only source for DC power on the whole sled. I mounted a 12v DC plug on the dash - next to the driver heated grip thermostat. This will power my GPS unit.
