has anyone installed a 16" track on a 05 mountain viper? just went to tuck mine in and discovered that the track was 16" wide which is awesome but it wont fit in the tunnel between the 2 rear drop brackets. its looking as if i may have to fabricate some new skinny brackets and space them at the bottom.

Its been done and I plan to do it on my MM700 A$$ Kicker. Do a search, I know I saw a post with instructions. IF I remeber right you have to get some drop brackets and notch them. I'll look for the post and post it if I find it.

only thing is the 05 got the ckmountain suspension. but i would guess that it would work the same.

thanks for the link, does anyone have a specs on the modified brackets?
There was a post with pictures on snowest that I had saved the link to but it is gone now with the forum change. I think the user was "yamahammer" who had the pics. As I remember, he used the stock drop brackets and just cut the inside support portion so the track would clear. Might be worth a post or PM over there in the Yamaha section to see if you can stir anything up.
