i am in the process of cleaning my '00 vmax 700's carbs and i've seen references to clip position. what is this, where is it, and what do i need to know about it. thanks for the education

Take off the tops of the carbs two phillips. Then you have to un bolt the slides two small allen maybe 3mm then the slide will drop down. Take some hemoclips and pull the needle its in the center of the slide.

You can raise the clip to lower your needle or lower the clip to raise the needle. Depending on how your plugs look will determine what you want to do with your clip postion. I got a lot of help from the guys on this forum on what my clip postion should be.

It is a 2.5mm allen (rounded end style works best). Check stock specs in the tech section for your machine. It will tell you what stock settings are and there will be a description on what the settings mean under engine in the tech section I believe.
