Need Help with '79 SRX Secondary
I'm new here. I've been reading all threads but didn't find what I need to know.
I bought a '79 SRX 440 a year ago and have been working on getting it running right. The sled came with Aaen pipes and what I am told is a rebuild stock engine. All new seals, compression is good, leak down test was good.
It has a big bog off the line. It was fouling plugs when idling so I pulled carbs out and found 360 mains with stock #30 pilots. I changed the mains to 320 and it helped with the fouling but not the bog. Clutch engagement was 4000 rpm when I first tried it. I changed the primary spring to a green/yellow and it brought engagement up to 5000 and helped but still bad. I have to feather the throttle to 6500 before the sled cleans up and then screams hard.
I'm now looking at the secondary. The spring looks real old, maybe original. I'm assuming its sagged, but regardless, I want to change it. First, the secondary is siezed to the shaft. How do I get it off without damage? Second, I've been to the local dealer and they say the secondary spring is discontinued from Yamaha. Where can I buy one and do I have choices?
Any advise is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

SECONDARY AIN,T HELPING YA SEIZED UP LIKE THAT. FIRST THING THOSE SPRING ARE A TIME A DOZEN. AND SALVAGE OR OLD DEALER SHOULD HAVE IT. IT WAS COLOR CODED '' YELLOW. PART # IS 90508-45286. NOW CAN YOU GET BOLT OUT THAT HOLD SECONDARY ON. YOUR GONNA HAVE TO GET SOME KIND OF BLASTER LUBER AND HOPEFULLY IT CAN GET INTO SHAFT AND POSSIBLELY TAP SLIGHTLY WITH RUBBER HAMMER. I CAN TELL YA THATS NEVER BEEN OFF THAT SLED. WOW!! 3:16 (yammie tony)
