Okay folks I need some advice here. The Bulb in my SXR600 Speedo went. The Yamaha Specs call for a T10 12V/1.7 Watt bulb. I can't seem to find what buld that is. It is physically the same as a 168 or 194 automotive bulb, but those bulbs are 4.2 Watts or 3.2 Watts respectively. I put a 168 in just to check things out, and the speedo doesn't seem any brighter than the tach. The electrical engineer in me wants to use the right bulb.
Does anyone know if there is another bulb number that matches the 1.7 Watt spec??? Has anyone tried a LED version???

I think I might have answered my own question. It looks like a 161 automotive bulb is around 1.9 Watts at 12 volts.
Has anyone used 168s or 194s without any issues? I'. sure my old 87 Exciter used 194s.

I had to put a 194 in my SRX about 3 years ago. When it went out the 194 is all I could find up in the northwoods. It is just a touch brighter, but I never took the time to get the right bulb since it has been working. They do make a led bulb that will fit and you can get it in different colors also.

I changed the bulbs in my 99mm when one burned out and put colored yellow bulbs in 194 and a buddy put in blue working fine for about 3 years now.
