Hi,

My Viper Mountain is overreving, any ideas why?

Im running om 0-300 m. over sea.

Viper Mountain 2004 (MJ)
.:Primary:.
15,6mm rollers
b-p-b
8DN-20 (4,5g/4,5g)
.:Secondary:.
39deg helixcam 8BV91
green spring
70deg twist
.:Gearing:.
23/39
.: Drive Belt:.
8DN

Should i try red secondary spring @ 70deg?
and 14,5 rollers in primary?
Any ideas and thoughts are welcome. Please help

I am not familiar with the helix part numbers, but if it is a 39 degree, that may be your problem. a stock helix on an srx is 47 degress,
Some of the compound angle helixes ( like 51/43 or 54/41 have cause some over reving because of the low finish angle ( 43,41) with similar clutch weights
if that is the case, they your 39 may be way to flat to let the secondary shift
all the way
you can try red, it is less stiff then green, or just take 10deg twist out of the green and see what happens, but you may be chasing the problem starting with an incorrect helix
again , I don't know what helix is on viper, just my srx

hope this helps

Ya

Do you have access to a steeper helix....at least the initial angle. Does it over-rev ALL the time at ALL speeds?
