I have been worried lately about this seal going bad after reading a few threads on here. Considering the upper end (cyliniders / pistons /head) are being gone through I thought this replace will make feel a little better. So today I tackled the job. It took about an 1 hour. The hardest part is getting the inner metal cup to come out. I pretty much destroyed it getting it out. One side note; that I had no Idea or previous understanding from reading the threads, is, just behind the metal cup seal on the bottom of the bore and in front of the FWD bearing there is a drain hole drilled in the case to weep fluid away and out of the area. This makes it impossible for coolaant to enter the case. PS these pics are from my camera phone.
