I just bought a srx heat exchanger that I want to install in my 99 sx600. Do I need anything to make this fit or will it fit right in? I want to get all the parts in need before I take it apart.
Thanks

you will need to make your smaller hoses in the rear fit over the bigger SRX nipples on the exchanger.....take the hoses of and pound them with a hammer on the floor to soften the rubber and reinstall them, ss hose clamps would be a great addition instead of the spring type.

I tried for 2 hours today to get the hoses over the bigger nipples with no luck! Is there any other way to do this? Is there a reducer or something I can buy?
take the hose and soak it in really hot water , then take the hose and a hammer and pound the piss out of the hose at the end of it ..... I have done this it will go..., shit I might even have the hoses that are preformed yet at home.
1 more thing...you can spray the nipple with Silicone spray to help it slide easier.

If you have the hoses and want to get rid of them let me know
I have them but they look like they went back to shape....I can do this for you...I wish you where closer ...sorry
You can go to a Napa and just get some hose between the 2 sizes and try that.

you can get srx hoses, and leave your sx hoses on the running board tube cut it flush at the end of the tube and use that as a spacer for the srx hose to slide over and tighten with an adjustable hose clamp. the sxr hose will slide right on the rear cooler no hassle. also you can spray carb or brake clean in the hose to soften it and push, push, push. grape and i had to do that on my tunnel extension when i went from 121 to 136" i got it about half way on, and my fingers got tired. grape finished each side for me. ski

I finally got the hoses on. Went on much easier with some silicone. You weren't kidding when you said "pound the piss out of them!"
Thanks for all the help!
