HEY YAMAHA TECHS. ALL SUMMER I WENT THROUGH THIS 96 XT. NEW TOP END W/ WEISCO STD PISTONS. TOP END BEARINGS,WATERPUMP AND BELT W/ BEARING. TSTAT, FF,OF, SHIM KIT FOR THOSE F'IN SCISSOR ARMS. TRACK, SEAT COVER, BLACK WINDSHILED, HAD THE SECONDARY REDONE (MAN WAS IT WOOPED) AND GOT THE 108 CLIUTCH (NEW) ETC ETC ETC...NOW i GOT THIS GUY TELLING ME THAT THE SLP'S I GOT SUCK AND I AM GOING TO MELT IT DOWN. JETTED IT AS PER SLP SPECS. 155 ON THE MAINS (MILD WINTER WEATHER TO START) AND 52.5 FOR THE PILOT JET. TUNED DOWN THE FLOAT LEVEL TO THE LOW SIDE OF THE SPEC (21.3MM) AND SO FORTH. LOVE THIS SLED BUT WANT TO BE SURE THAT ITS GONNA BE O.K. ALSO RUNNING AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR NOW. ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE THE SAME SORT OF SET UP AND WHAT COLOR SPRING AND # CAM ARMS FOR THE 108 COMET. RIGHT NOW I HAVE THE SILVER/RED PRIMRY SPRING...TOO WEAK. RIPS AT 3300 RPM...
If your runninng the pipes to spec...WTF is he talking about. NCY had a 96xt with GYT pipes jetted at 156.3, stock needle position with fuel levels at 25 mm....great runner. Ran Stock clutch with 8ab , 2.4g inner hole and 2.7g in outer........you sound real close on the jetting...
