I have a new to me srx ,Fixed the valves and set them.Running some lakes yesterday the light came on a varied rpms and throttle positions? ii filled up with shell gold (believe to be 92 octane and then esso prem. which i believe to be 91 octane) i just kind of thought i would only see this light at wot if i was going to?That being said i have not had the carbs off of it yet(the previous owner always stored it with stabilizer he said) just wondering if this light does weird things on it's own or anything .I will pull the carbs and i hope to find something in the bowls but if not????ran it to day and it did not come on til i was approaching 100mph on the speedo? Temp outside is about 34* or 2* c

The overrev,Read on here some guys like to run 8600 and others 8500.First time out with the sled it rab 86-8700. So i dissassembled the clutches (everthing is stock)cleaned them, reassembled and now it runs 8900-9000????? guys have any experiences similar to this......(i should add the PV's were non functional when running 8600 rpm range)

Thanks for the reply! The way this guy sounded ,he just took it to the dealer for regular service(i know some dealers are better than others) i'll pull the carbs this week(i don't like to run a sled i don't know without seeing inside them normally, but the pv's took my time) The clutching ,i have looked over some of the posted setups(in the tech),I'll play with it a bit try to get it right stock first (in case there is an issue i imssed) then i'll experiment from there. Thanks again

Also do a search on the main board, lots there too.

search "WWW",,thats a all around killer setup for srx's that you can do
for very little money..that really wakes her up..

lol i haven't seen carbs this bad since i worked in a yammy shop many moons ago! This explain the light(thank you Yamaha!)

yes. i pull my carbs every fall as part of my own maintenance regiment.(drain fuel in spring) oh well these will clean up all right. The previous owner is either full of sh#t or his dealer was bsing him. That was not the result of 1 summer of sitting.

That's some really lovely "snot" in the bowls there, Kev. My guess is that those carbs have never been apart, or if they have, it certainly hasn't been for several years. :o|

I don't believe they have! The witness marks on all of the lines from the clamps look like they are exactly were they were from the factory.....
