My 98 V-max 600 has a noisy clutch this started just recently. Sounds almost like an engine problem but I rebuilt the top end (cleaned, checked, and lubed crankshaft) I took apart the clutch and all the rollers, weights, and washers are good (The weights are 10 grams over stock and a orangeish red spring) belt is good and runs good just noisy! Any suggestions? Also when the clutch was off the sled I ran it and engine/crank sounded great. Thanks for any help!

The noise happens even if it is idling with no belt on.

If your sure of your engine and clutch then look over all your motor mounts to make sure none of them are loose or broken. as well as other things that can make a lot of noise when loose or broken like your belt gaurd, tuner (rubber bumpers are missing between tuner and rest pad), air box, etc.

I'll check it out pretty sure its the primary cause the noise stops if I remove it and just run the engine. Could be a balance issue though, I'll check the mounts and anything else
