After i shredded a belt this weekend there was a continuos "squealing" @ low speed/rpm and idle. It would stop instantly if i grabbed the brake but would start back up soon after. I dont know if it was just the belt that i put on that was making the noise or if maybe i have more serious problems. Also, It just dawned on me that I have went through a new belt each year for the last two years and probly rode less than 150 mile each year. Now im thinking i probably have a larger issue than im aware of. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

simply adjust secondary opening with the 3 screws behind the sheave.Either take out or add washers, most probably you'll have to remove.Where is the belt riding on the secondary,if it to high, your belt will squeal at idle.More importantly..have you checked your primary and secondary clutch center to center and offset. That is a must and should be done right off, then adjust your belt height in secondary. If things are not aligned, your belt takes the brunt of it.Your Yamaha manual shows the settings or ask daman,he has the pics to show you along with explanation.
