I checked the 'Tech pages' and the row for the needle clip position is blank for a 93 Exciter II LE (actually most are blank?). Does anyone know what the stock factory position is?
My machine was getting poor mileage, so pulled the carbs apart and found that the needle position clips were different on each carb? I find it hard to believe that this is the stock settings. I bought the machine used so I'm sure someone has messed with the settings...

start at 3 in the middle, and adjust from there. i'm not sure on the LE which uses roundslides, but the SXT stock position is 3 i beleive. a good starting point at least. maybe there is a leak on the intake or something that caused the previous owner to pull one needle richer?

The SX uses flat slides and I'm sure the needles, settings, etc are all different...
I would rather know the stock, round slide, setting. If know ones responds I may need to play around a little but would rather not...
Thanks anyway for the response.

My manual says the stock setting is #3 position. Main jet #310, pilot jet #42.5, pilot screw 5/8 turns out. Removing the air box will lean out the mixture.

Thanks! At least I now know where to begin. I am heading to the Soo this weekend and I wanted to get them set to the stock position.
