Paint stripper. Then use a metal polish for a nice clean look.

I just finished mine last night. Heres what I did:
(1) Satuarate paint with any paint stripper availiable at the hardware store. I used Bix brand but there all good. Do small areas at a time or it will dry out on you before you get to cleaning it off. Wear gloves!
(2) Wipe off paint and stripper with rags. I cut up a couple old t-shirts into little 8"x8" squares and threw them in the trash after they were covered with gunk.
(3) Some small areas won't come clean so I took some fine steel wool, wet the areas with stripper, let set a minute, and then rubbed off the areas with the steel wool.
(4) After the tunnel was entirely stripped and dry I rubbed it down completely with fine steel wool. This took off any dryed chunks of stripper and stuff.
(5) Next take some 1500 or 2000 grit sand paper and rub the whole area down. This will give it alot more shine than just polishing it.
(6) Now the fun part. Get some aluminum polish. I prefer Mothers, seems to work the best. Rub it into the tunnel until it turns black. Thats the oxidation coming off the aluminum. Keep scrubbing and scrubbing. After I did the whole tunnel I whipped it down and hit the dull spots again. Thats not neccesary but the more you do it the better the shine. Its up to you.
(7) Stand back, pop the top on your favorite beverage(if you have any left, its takes a while), and gaze in amazement!

Redmater, Be sure to let the rags and steel wool completely dry (evaporate) as the paint stripper is a combustable product that could easily start a fire.
Sledrider, Nice looking, great job.
