Well i am going to get my pipes coated..... found a place near me that does it........ 200 dollars for the 3 pipes and the muffler....

Just want to know how to get my pipes off and if all those springs have to go in the place they came from or if they are all the same size...

Where do i start taking things off? from the motor end or the can end?

Just don't want to loose parts if i actually have to keep track of where they went....

Thanks

i found it easy to remove the center pipe first.remove springs at can the motor.i scribbed a number on the pipes so i could identify there spot.once the center pipe springs are loose just move it slightly woward the front under the mag pipe and it will come out.are they doing the flanges aswell?

I don't know, should i have them done? will i need new gaskets?

Also, Can the sled be run with the pipes off? or is it best not to? i don't mean like riding it on trails, just from one area to another in the shop....

I'd really love to do all my own work on my sled, But i'd be so pissed at myself if i Messed something up, you could say i'm not confident, but its my baby and i don't want to F*** it up....

What i wanted to do originally was have my buddy at the dealership take them off for me, and then get it back on my trailer and just leave it on the trailer till i get the pipes back.... then have him put it back on........ He knows what hes doing with sleds.......

Thats why i wanted to know if i could run the sled without pipes on it..... Worst comes to worst we use a sled dolly to get it on the trailer......

Just draw yourself a little map of the spring locations and mark each spring with a little piece of masking tape with a number. The pipes them self will only fit one location each. When you get them back, just test fit each pipe until you are sure of there location. This is probably overkill but, it is better to be safe than have a problem.
I have ruined a lot of parts in haste and impatience. It is better to take a little extra time to make sure things are right.
You could even use a digital camera to take a picture, print it, then mark the locations.
Oh, I have a pair of needle nose vise grips, they are almost useless except for snowmobile exhaust springs. You can buy them anywhere that you can buy regular vise grips.
