Hello,
Can anybody help me with the carb set-up for
my v-max 540. What main jets? Do you block and
remove power jets? It is all stock!
Thanks,
Shawn

vmax 540 jetting
this is what im runnin in cny its pretty flat here and works great.and was a final setup from yamaha from the standard settings they started with.
290 mains
35 pilots
power jets
L-135
r-125
power air jets
L-1.5
r-2.0
airscrews out1/2 turn on the carbs there's a number by the choke cable that is followed by an L or R to tell you wich is wich somtimes they could get switched around on accident if someone wasnt paying attention. clutchside is left side of motor. igot to thinking at one time wich side is wich . do i look at it from the exhaust side or the carb side. a service bulletin straightend that out for me . as far as blocking the power jet ive heard of it done they use to block it off with a bb but not sure of the advantages.hope this helps you out. check out vintagevmax.com lotta good info .
