Learned a new trick yesterday that I thought I would share, maybe some of you have heard of it?
My dad's Honda 300 fourtrax wasn't getting spark. Already put a new stator in it, that wasn't it. I pulled the coil out and called the local dealer to see if they had one. The mechanic told me that the cdi is what usually fails on them, rarely the coil. He told me to get a hair dryer and warm up the cdi and then see if it would start. He said this works about 80% of the time. I went out and ran the hair dryer on it for about five minutes, and sure enough it started right up! My dad and I both got a good laugh that I used a hair dryer to help fix his atv. Anyway, store that knowledge in the back of your mind, maybe it will help you some day.
