I have a 01 silverado 5.3 and i am going to be putting dual exhaust on it. I want quite a bit of noise but i would never sacrafice noice for power. I was kind of thinking about getting a dual exhaust flowmaster kit but instead of putting on the flowmaster muffler i was just going to put a Y pipe in. Then if it was too ignorantly loud i could just switch out the Y pipe and put the muffler in its place. My question is, am i going to lose a bunch of horsepower or torque for using a straight pipe system (sorta, i will not be taking my cats off).
thanks

You may loose a little bottom and mid range torque. Engine will breathe better at higher rpms thus a little more hp at the top. The most this straight exhaust will do for you is anoy the crap out of your neighbors.
