I popped my clutch off the other day and when I was about to put it back on I noticed that the outer clutch bearing was exposed and missing 3-4 of the ball bearings... I was a little surprised to see this on a MM700 as I have always heard how good those engines are. I'm not impressed thats for sure. Anyone have any idea what might have caused this or have this happen before? Hopefully there are no other problems I can't see. The engine has less than 8000 km on it..

You mean jackshaft bearing behind secondary?
Just wondering if you ment the jackshaft bearing behind the secondary, since I have no idea how you would inspect a crank bearing by removing the clutch, since they are sealed? If it is the jackshaft one you are reffering too mine did the exact same thing at 9400km. I had to buy a new jack shaft and two new bearings. I also did the drive bearings as well they were toast too. Only last 10,000km or about 5 years.

No I'm referring to the crank. I can see it because the seal is gone on the bearing....

Yikes!
Sounds like your seals must of dried out over the off season's. Lucky you caught it before it leaned out and take out the bottom end. Anyway's sounds like you will have to tear down the motor to fix it. That sucks. I have 12,600km on my 03 viper and haven't had any issue's with the engine yet. Good luck
